Join the St. Louis Association of REALTORS®

The St. Louis Association of REALTORS® welcomes new members throughout the year. The Association offers memberships to residential and commercial real estate licensees, appraisers, and affiliate members. Membership classifications are Designated REALTOR®, REALTOR®, REALTOR® Associate, and Affiliate. All individuals and companies requesting membership must complete an application. Specific details for each membership classification and association contact information can be found below. All new members are required to take an Ethics and New Member Orientation class within six months of the joining date. Click here to view a list of upcoming classes. Membership dues are based on the membership classification. Annual membership dues are prorated monthly. Contact the Association at 314-576-0033 for the current dues amounts.

Designated REALTOR® (DR) - Primary Broker (residential or commercial) - The Designated REALTOR® membership (DR) is the principal licensed broker for the firm. Applicants for Designated REALTOR® membership must hold one of the following types of licenses: Individual Broker, Broker Associate, Broker Officer, Broker Partner or Appraiser. The following is a checklist of items needed to process your (DR) membership application.

• SLAR Broker Application
• SLAR Credit Card Payment Form (if applicable)
• List of Licensed Individuals Associated With Your Company
• Orientation Class Schedule
• MARIS Participation Agreement (if applicable)
• MARIS Credit Card Payment Form (if applicable)
• CIE Office Application (if applicable)
• CIE Credit Card Payment Form (if applicable)
• Copy of your Broker/Appraiser License or Temporary Work Permit
• Copy of your Company’s License (Corporation or Association)
• Copy of any Incorporation, Limited Liability Company, or Fictitious Name Paperwork

REALTOR® (R)- Licensed Broker (residential or commercial) - The REALTOR® membership (R) is for licensed brokers associated with a firm that are not the primary (designated) broker. In order to be an office manager you must have a REALTOR® membership. Applicants for REALTOR® membership must hold one of the following types of licenses: Broker Officer, Broker Associate, Broker Partner, Broker Salesperson, Professional Corporation Broker Salesperson or Appraiser. The following is a checklist of items needed to process your (R) membership application:

• SLAR Broker Application
• SLAR Credit Card Payment Form (if applicable)
• Orientation Class Schedule
• Copy of your Broker/Appraiser License or Temporary Work Permit
• Letter from the Principal Broker of the firm stating your position with the company

REALTOR® Associate (RA) - Licensed Agent (residential or commercial) - The REALTOR® Associate membership is for licensed agents associated with a Primary Broker. Applicants for REALTOR® Associate membership must hold the following types of licenses: Broker Salesperson, Professional Corporation Broker Salesperson, Salesperson, Professional Corporation Salesperson and Appraiser. The following is a checklist of items needed to process your (RA) membership application:

• SLAR Agent Application
• SLAR Credit Card Payment Form (if applicable)
• Orientation Class Schedule
• MARIS Agent Application
• Copy of your Real Estate/Appraiser License or Temporary Work Permit

Affiliate (AFF) - The Affiliate Membership is an individual membership. There are two types of Affiliate membership: First Affiliate, which is the responsible member for the company, and Second Affiliate, for all other members of the company. The following is a checklist of items needed to process your (AFF) membership application:

• SLAR Affiliate Application
• SLAR Credit Card Payment Form (if applicable)
• Photo ID
• Letter describing your company
